FAQs

Am I sweating more in Gore- Tex lined boots?
No. The foot is always producing moisture, there is no difference if you are wearing
Gore- Tex lined boots or boots with a different lining. Very important: You can get the best comfort out of the Gore- Tex lining, when you are using special Gore- Tex recommended socks (never use cotton socks).
Can I buy directly buy at Meindl, can I get a pair of boots directly from the factory?
No. There is no factory outlet for the general public. We recommend going to a specialised shop with trained staff who can give you recommendations concering the products. In Kirchanschöring there is a Meindl shop where you can buy a hugh range of Meindl boots at the standard price level.
How can I find the right model for me?
With the help of welltrained people in a good outdoor or sports shop. It is important to consider before you buy your pair of boots for which terrain you will need them. We mark out models with the letters A- D to give you some help. On our website you can get information about the fields of applications and the models.

The hooks and rings on my pair of boots are rusty. What can I do?
You can avoid this by putting cream on the hooks too when you clean your boots. If they are already rusty, you can still get them in good condition again, if you put cream or wax on them, then the rust will go away.
The laces of my boots are finished, where can I get a new pair of shoe laces?
Your Meindl dealer is for sure doing laces. A recommendation from our side: if the laces are too long, just cut them and carefully burn the ends in a flame to close the ends.
The lining of my Meindl boots is damaged. What can I do?
This can happen when the boots are heavily used. When the leather lining gets wet and is dried too quickly, then the leather gets hard. Please take your pair of boots to a local shoemaker or to a Meindl dealer who will send the boots to our shoemakers to be repaired.
The rings or hooks of my pair of boots are gone. Do I have to send the boots to you?
The fixing of the rings and hooks is done in a very careful way, but it is one of 200 different steps of handiwork on a pair of trekking boots. If the rings or hooks do come off, please contact a local shoemaker. Important: In a Gore- Tex lined boot the rings and hooks may not be fixed through the Gore- Tex lining, otherwise the membrane is destroyed and the boot will leak.
The soles of my boots are heavily used. Can one still repair them or do I have to buy a new pair of boots?
Soles can, as long as the upper is still in good condition, be either glued or resoled. Your shoemaker can order the original soles at Meindl. Or you can contact your Meindl dealer who will send them to the Meindl boot production. We will resole the boots with original soles at our cost price.
The soles of my Meindl boots are slippery? What should I do?
If the soles of a new pair of boots is slippery, this can come from the silicon which was put into the form of the sole. If the soles of an already used boot is slippery, the surface of the soles gets hard and therefore slippery- a typical property of vulcanised rubber. Please do roughen the surface of the outsole of your boots with the help of emery paper or do walk with your pair of boots on asphalt to open the surface of the outsole.
The stiching on my pair of boots comes undone. What should I do?
We only use Nylon threads made out of Polyamid. Tough conditions, like stones and trees.
Restiching is no problem and it can be done by any shoe repair service. With Gore- Tex lined boots: Never stitch trough the membrane, otherwise the boots will leak.
There is something wrong with my pair of Meindl boots. Should I make a claim or am I still under guarantee. What should I do?
Take your pair of Meindl boots together with the receipt to the retailer where you bought your pair of boots (if the retailer is too far away, you can also contact any other Meindl retailer). The retailer will check and will decide what needs to be done and if the boot has to be sent to Meindl.
